Programmes and Activities

The core of the 36th EMS Summer School - Membranes for a Sustainable Future consisted of technical lectures from both academic and industrial European experts within the fields of sustainable membrane technology. The participants will also have many chances to interact and network in different academic and non-academic activities.

The programme is organised around four main sessions of lectures covering: Gas Separation, Liquid Processes, Resource Reuse, Inorganic Materials. Each of these sessions will have an invited keynote speaker that is a world-recognised established leader in the field and two early-career researchers. We aim to expose the students not only to excellence in science but also to diverse, successful career trajectories and introduce future leaders in the field.

The details of the Programmes and Activities are presented below. All keynote and invited lectures will be held in Lecture Theatre 1/2 (Sanderson Building) at the King's Buildings campus.

  2. SynFabFun Membrane wall: a Membrane Questioning Wall will be available on Monday morning. The participants will be encouraged to write their questions on the post-it and leave them on the wall until Thursday morning. Every night, the questions will be clustered in groups in order to identify the most pressing issues related to membranes that the students want to discuss.
